The Pettersson D240x is a heterodyne detector and has the following options:
Sound recording (max. 3,4 seconds)
After the sound is recorded it is possible to play it in the heterodyne mode while simultaneously altering the frequency at which you are listening. A sound that cannot be directly identified can thereby be repeatedly replayed and assessed
Delayed (time-expansion) playback of the recorded sound (the sound is slowed 10x, thereby also lowering the frequency 10x)
A digital recorder, such as the Tascam DR-05X, can be connected to the D240x to record the time expanded calls for analysis on a PC
This D240x bat detector is delivered together with a case to protect it and a FREE rechargeable 9V battery.
The ideal bat detector for anyone who works with bat detectors professionally.

The u256 sets a new standard for USB microphones offering excellent sensitivity, low noise, small size and ultra-low power consumption – all for a modest price. The components are housed in a slim and durable aluminium enclosure.
Like the well-known Pettersson M500-384 microphone, the u-series microphones identify as standard audio recording devices on Windows, OS X, Android, iOS and Linux. Likewise, they are compatible with most common sound recording apps and programs. The microphones are naturally compatible with the BatSound and BatSound Touch software.
Please verify the hardware/software compatibility and that 256 kHz recording is supported. Certain smartphones/tablets – particularly low-end devices – have been found not to support USB audio at 256 kHz.
The USB connector on the u256 plugs directly into a USB Micro B jack, becoming a small and portable recording unit.
In order to connect the u256 to devices with other types of USB jacks or when space constraints make it difficult to plug the u256 directly into the USB jack, an extension cable and/or an adapter can be used. Such cables and adapters must be OTG enabled. For Apple devices, we recommend using the official Apple adapter (art. code MD821ZM/A).

The Batlogger M is a further developed version of the first Elekon Batlogger.
Next to the recording of bat calls themselves and the time and date of the recording, the Batlogger M also registers the GPS coordinates of the sighting through the built in GPS receiver, as well as the ambient temperature.
The Batlogger M is equipped with an internal battery that can make recordings during several sequential nights without recharging it. Data is stored on an SD card.
The free ‘BatExplorer software’ makes it easy for you to manage and further analyze the collected data. The software is available for Windows as well as Mac-OS users and contains basic identification software that makes suggestions that have to be validated by the user.
One of the applications that the Elekon Batlogger M is used for is the research through a car transect. (Inventories performed from a car, using transects).

The M500 USB microphone is the ultrasonic microphone of the D500x in a more compact aluminum housing and equipped with a USB 2.0 connector for connectimg to laptops and tablets.
The microphone comes with a free ‘Lite’ version of the user-friendly BatSound Touch recording programme and allows for real-time tracking of spectrograms and wave forms. The recordings can be saved as 16-bit wave files.
Sounds between 15 and 190kHz are monitored at a frequency of 500kHz with the M500 microphone, which can operate in both directional and omnidirectional modes. The well-known noise reduction algorithm, high sampling rate and anti-aliasing filter ensure high-quality sound.
Manual, pre and post triggers are configurable.
The software is available for Windows and Android systems. And the M500 comes with a 50cm cable fitted with a mini USB connector at one end (for the M500) and a standard USB A connector at the other. In addition, the M500 can also be connected to a tablet by using a USB A to USB micro extender with "OTG" label (for fast data exchange).

The M500-384 is another addition to the series of Pettersson ultrasonic microphones. It offers great ease of use and is priced at roughly the same point as the M500.
The M500-384 can be connected to a device running Android, Linux (Ubuntu), OS X, iOS or Windows and will work as a standard audio recording device. You don’t need to install any special drivers.
Like the M500, the M500-384 comes in a slim and durable aluminium housing and uses the same advanced electret microphone technology as the well-known D500X detector.
The M500-384 can be used in both directional and omni-directional mode. The M500-384 is the ideal choice if you plan to use your smartphone to record ultrasonic sounds. Also consider this model if you wish to be independent in terms of operating system or software. Check the hardware compatibility of the software you choose and whether it supports recording at 384 kHz.
A 0.5 m USB cable is included (USB Mini- to USB-A).

The Batscanner Stereo by Elekon makes it possible to accurately follow the flight routes of bats. The scanner modifies ultrasound into audible sound through the ‘mixer principle’ (heterodyne). The special feature of the Elekon Batscanner Stereo is that it can automatically reset the frequency to the best listening or peak frequency of the signal. Making it easier for the user to focus on the observation of behavior and leave the frequency adjustments to the scanner.
The peak frequency will be indicated on the display, even when it concerns a short passage. The scanner translates the ultrasound to a stereo sound track so that the flight movement can be heard through the head phones. A real benefit to the research of flight routes.
This Batscanner is also often used as a second detector: A scanner used to be sure that no bat is missed on alternative frequencies than the frequency used on the main detector.
Its small size and pleasant shape that fits exactly in your hand makes the Elekon Batscanner Stereo an essential companion.

Detecting bat sounds is easier than ever. All you have to do is turn on the Elekon Batscanner and listen. That's it. The ultrasonic sounds are automatically converted into the audible range. No adjustments are needed.
The Batscanner recognizes the bats' calling frequency and automatically adjusts the mixing frequency. A smart system in the Batscanner automatically filters out the noise. But with the preservation of the low frequency call of the bat within this spectrum.

Titley has developed a new fully customizable, durable nature recorder instead of the Anabat Swift. The Ranger has all the features you would expect from Titley Scientific recorders: durability in tough field conditions, user-friendly, compact, lightweight, and with built-in GPS.
The Ranger can be expanded with various microphones, including discreet, side-mounted, or front-mounted acoustic microphones, and front-mounted omnidirectional or directional ultrasonic microphones - all of which are weather-resistant, highly sensitive, and easy for the user to replace in the field.
The Ranger can record various sounds simultaneously. Setting it up is simple; use the pre-set recording modes, and the GPS determines your location, sunset, and sunrise to record precisely when needed. You don't need phones or external devices for installation; you can adjust the settings via the internal color touchscreen.
Deploy for longer periods with a battery capacity of 8 AA batteries (100 nights ultrasonic or 700 hours acoustic*), or use external power with or without solar panels for long-term or permanent installation.
The camouflaged, robust housing has multiple attachment points for everything from cable ties to camera tripod mounts and elastic bands. If you want additional security, you can purchase a security box and a python lock. In that case, please contact us at info@apodemus.eu.
