As an accessory for the BatLure we have developed the BatLure Spinner. Using the BatLure Spinner in combination with the BatLure increases your chances of successfully capturing bats as they move about their habitat.
The BatLure Spinner consists of two ultrasonic loudspeakers with a mirror mounted between them. This mirror turns – spins – on an axis. Sound emanating from the speakers is reflected off the rotating mirror, causing it to scatter. Scattering the sound results in greater variation in the signal. This creates the illusion that the source of the sound is moving, which has been shown by empirical research to result in a higher rate of capture.
The BatLure Spinner is an accessory intended for use with the BatLure, available from Apodemus. Please note that you must be in possession of a BatLure in order to use the BatLure Spinner.
Please note: In order to use the BatLure Spinner, you must have a BatLure from the series "BL1715001" or later, which runs on firmware “TAG 20190227" or a more recent version.

The Pettersson D240x is a heterodyne detector and has the following options:
Sound recording (max. 3,4 seconds)
After the sound is recorded it is possible to play it in the heterodyne mode while simultaneously altering the frequency at which you are listening. A sound that cannot be directly identified can thereby be repeatedly replayed and assessed
Delayed (time-expansion) playback of the recorded sound (the sound is slowed 10x, thereby also lowering the frequency 10x)
A digital recorder, such as the Tascam DR-05X, can be connected to the D240x to record the time expanded calls for analysis on a PC

The u256 sets a new standard for USB microphones offering excellent sensitivity, low noise, small size and ultra-low power consumption – all for a modest price. The components are housed in a slim and durable aluminium enclosure.
Like the well-known Pettersson M500-384 microphone, the u-series microphones identify as standard audio recording devices on Windows, OS X, Android, iOS and Linux. Likewise, they are compatible with most common sound recording apps and programs. The microphones are naturally compatible with the BatSound and BatSound Touch software.
Please verify the hardware/software compatibility and that 256 kHz recording is supported. Certain smartphones/tablets – particularly low-end devices – have been found not to support USB audio at 256 kHz.
The USB connector on the u256 plugs directly into a USB Micro B jack, becoming a small and portable recording unit.
In order to connect the u256 to devices with other types of USB jacks or when space constraints make it difficult to plug the u256 directly into the USB jack, an extension cable and/or an adapter can be used. Such cables and adapters must be OTG enabled. For Apple devices, we recommend using the official Apple adapter (art. code MD821ZM/A).

The Batscanner Stereo by Elekon makes it possible to accurately follow the flight routes of bats. The scanner modifies ultrasound into audible sound through the ‘mixer principle’ (heterodyne). The special feature of the Elekon Batscanner Stereo is that it can automatically reset the frequency to the best listening or peak frequency of the signal. Making it easier for the user to focus on the observation of behavior and leave the frequency adjustments to the scanner.
The peak frequency will be indicated on the display, even when it concerns a short passage. The scanner translates the ultrasound to a stereo sound track so that the flight movement can be heard through the head phones. A real benefit to the research of flight routes.
This Batscanner is also often used as a second detector: A scanner used to be sure that no bat is missed on alternative frequencies than the frequency used on the main detector.
Its small size and pleasant shape that fits exactly in your hand makes the Elekon Batscanner Stereo an essential companion.

Titley has developed a new fully customizable, durable nature recorder instead of the Anabat Swift. The Ranger has all the features you would expect from Titley Scientific recorders: durability in tough field conditions, user-friendly, compact, lightweight, and with built-in GPS.
The Ranger can be expanded with various microphones, including discreet, side-mounted, or front-mounted acoustic microphones, and front-mounted omnidirectional or directional ultrasonic microphones - all of which are weather-resistant, highly sensitive, and easy for the user to replace in the field.
The Ranger can record various sounds simultaneously. Setting it up is simple; use the pre-set recording modes, and the GPS determines your location, sunset, and sunrise to record precisely when needed. You don't need phones or external devices for installation; you can adjust the settings via the internal color touchscreen.
Deploy for longer periods with a battery capacity of 8 AA batteries (100 nights ultrasonic or 700 hours acoustic*), or use external power with or without solar panels for long-term or permanent installation.
The camouflaged, robust housing has multiple attachment points for everything from cable ties to camera tripod mounts and elastic bands. If you want additional security, you can purchase a security box and a python lock. In that case, please contact us at info@apodemus.eu.

When on field work we often have no access to power points. Still, in some cases you will need a reliable source of electricity for a long period of time, for example for playing recordings of bat calls in order to lure bats.
That is why Apodemus has developed a Solar Powerkit especially for the BatLure.
What’s in the box
1 Handy 20W solar panel
1 12V battery
1 Built-in timer
The built-in timer allows you to play bat calls at exactly the right time. Cable lengths are custom made. The Solar Power Kit provides on average sufficient power to run the BatLure 4 hours a day. The actual duration depends on the season, sunlight and the type of sounds you play.
Technical specifications

The adapter makes it possible to connect the BatLure to the electricity network (110/ 220 volts). The constant power supply enables the BatLure to transmit for extended periods. In situations in which the BatLure is used to support the mitigation to new accommodation, this is a valuable addition. Consider, for example, mitigating measures where bats need to migrate from a building that’s about to be demolished. Even when the BatLure is being used to give indoor bat detector training, it’s useful when it can be connected to the electricity network.
What’s in the box
1 BatLure External Power adapter 110/ 220V
1 AC Plug mix (4 pieces)
1 BatLure External Power Cable

In principle, the eight AA batteries in de BatCounter are only used to test the device or to count over very short periods of time (e.g. a few nights). If you wish to use the BatCounter over longer periods, it is recommended that you connect to a 12-volt battery or the 110/ 220-volt electricity network.
The BatCounter Powerkit comes with
1 BatCounter External Power adapter 110V/ 220V
1 AC Plug mix (4 pieces)
1 BatCounter External Power Cable
€90.75
The BatLure Timerbox allows you to set specific working times for your BatLure. An ideal companion when luring bats to new roosts or when catching bats with nets within certain time frames. This way you don't always have to be physically present to switch your BatLure on and off. You also save energy from, for example, battery power or solar installations.
The timer is programmable with multiple on and off times (per day or per week). There is a button to turn the timer on and off automatically or manually. The timer is housed in a waterproof housing that can be opened without tools.
The timer box is fitted with a screw to secure the housing against unauthorized opening. To use the Timerbox, it is important that you remove the internal batteries from the BatLure and that an external power supply (battery or mains adapter) is available.
