Titley has developed a new fully customizable, durable nature recorder instead of the Anabat Swift. The Ranger has all the features you would expect from Titley Scientific recorders: durability in tough field conditions, user-friendly, compact, lightweight, and with built-in GPS.
We supply the Ranger as standard with an omnidirectional ultrasonic microphone. If you prefer a different microphone, you can choose from a wide range of options, including discreet, side-mounted, or front-mounted acoustic microphones, and front-mounted omnidirectional or directional ultrasonic microphones - all of which are weather-resistant, highly sensitive, and easy for the user to replace in the field.
The Ranger can record various sounds simultaneously. Setting it up is simple; use the pre-set recording modes, and the GPS determines your location, sunset, and sunrise to record precisely when needed. You don't need phones or external devices for installation; you can adjust the settings via the internal color touchscreen. Deploy for longer periods with a battery capacity of 8 AA batteries (100 nights ultrasonic or 700 hours acoustic*), or use external power with or without solar panels for long-term or permanent installation.
The camouflaged, robust housing has multiple attachment points for everything from cable ties to camera tripod mounts and elastic bands. If you want additional security, you can purchase a security box and a python lock. In that case, please contact us at info@apodemus.eu.
