The Anabat Walkabout is a detector and recorder in one. The 5-inch colour touchscreen displays the full spectrum and zero crossing in real time, allowing you to check and label files in the field.
The Walkabout uses a profile system that gives you quick access to customisable settings for different applications. You can lock your settings and export your profiles to other Walkabout detectors.
With the push of a button, you can change the Walkabout from a heterodyne “listening detector” to a detector optimised for collecting full spectrum, annotated reference calls.
In addition to the real-time sonogram display, you can switch to basic mode, which displays minimal information for when you find a live display distracting.
Managing recordings is easy because everything is stored on a memory card and there is a built-in file system for viewing, playing back and labelling species.
The detector features an omnidirectional microphone with a directional cone to reduce ambient noise. Record high-quality files (500 ksps) above 200 kHz. Save written or spoken memos, along with measurements of temperature, humidity and ambient light.
The hand strap, carrying cord and ergonomic design make active detection comfortable for long periods of time.
With a built-in GPS and map system, you can tag calls and record your route while on the go.
